Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup garlic confit
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tsp chili flakes
  • Salt salt
  • as needed black pepper
  • 1.5 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 loaf sourdough bread
  • 0.25 cup finely grated Parmesan
  • 1.25 cup shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Mix garlic confit with softened butter, chili flakes, a pinch of salt, black pepper, and parsley until fully combined to make the garlic butter.
  2. Slice sourdough in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter all over both halves. Top with Parmesan first, then finish with mozzarella.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is melted, then broil for 1–2 minutes for golden spots. Watch closely.
  4. Sprinkle with extra parsley and a light pinch of chili flakes.
