Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  2. Whisk buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter separately.
  3. Combine wet and dry until just mixed.
  4. Pour into a greased baking pan or cast iron skillet.
  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
